Quick hitters and waiver wire advice for a handful of notable players after Week 6 of the fantasy football season:
Matt Breida RB, Giants
Saquon Barkley looked like he was bothered, briefly, by a shoulder issue. No cause for alarm, but a reminder: If you have Barkley, grab Breida as a handcuff.
Wan’Dale Robinson WR, Giants
Robinson looked electric in his debut. If he can stay on the field, should continue to get a healthy share of the targets.
Rondale Moore WR, Cardinals
Marquise Brown was reportedly wearing a walking boot after injuring his ankle Sunday. Assuming he misses time, Kyler Murray will need someone to throw to. Expecting DeAndre Hopkins to have some rust upon his Week 7 return, A.J. Green is a mummy, and Greg Dortch has one target since Week 4.
Robert Tonyan TE, Packers
Maybe the Packers WRs evolve, as we have anticipated. But it is going slower than expected. Tonyan is one of the only reliable, familiar targets for Aaron Rodgers.
Ezekiel Elliott RB, Cowboys
Looked better Monday than he has in a while. Perhaps someone in your league is a Cowboys homer? A prisoner of name recognition? Try to deal him during this small window of positivity.
Brandon Aiyuk WR, 49ers
Had season-high targets (11), most since 2020 and his most ever in a healthy Deebo Samuel game. And gamescript was odd for San Fran — playing from behind all day. Don’t expect these overlapping events often.
Chase Claypool WR, Steelers
Caught all of his seven targets, 100 percent. For the season, he was at 63.9 percent catch rate, and just 57.6 for his career. Like Aiyuk, this is an outlier performance. Reminder: he has QB issues, and is just two weeks removed from a donut.
Mike Gesicki TE, Dolphins
With Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle to compete for quality targets, don’t expect Gesicki to have a consistent role, despite big game Sunday. Scored fewer than 5 points in PPR formats in four of first five games.
